Stairlift tracks fall into two basic categories, Straight and Curved. It can be a little confusing to know which type you need for your staircase so here is a brief explanation.
Straight Stairlifts
Straight stairlift tracks can only travel in straight lines, they cannot turn a corner or go around a bend. Adapted Living offers you a range of straight stairlifts so one is sure to meet your needs.
Are my stairs right for a straight stairlift?
In the majority of cases, yes, they are. We can install a stairlift on just about any straight staircase:
- On either side of the stairs, whichever side it fits best on.
- On the longest of staircases, so your stairs are well within our limits.
- Even if you have a radiator or door right at the top or bottom of your stairs, our retractable rail means we can adapt your stairlift to your home.
Curved Stairlifts
All curved stairlift tracks supplied by Adapted Living are made to order following a survey of each individual staircase. We can provide you with a free advice and quotation for your stairlift requirements.
Are my stairs right for a curved stairlift?
If your stairs take a turn, we can safely say that yes, they are – even if they have landings.
- Whether your stairs are steep, narrow, long or short
- Whether they’re made of metal, wood, concrete or tile
- If there are obstacles like a doorway or radiator on your stairs
- Even if there isn’t a clear landing at the top or bottom of the stairs
- If your stairs have a landing in the middle, stretch over different floors or are a spiral staircase
We can make a stairlift to fit your home.
